General Overview of Seminars

Years of dieting has only strengthened the chains of slavery to food. Years of focusing on food and giving all our boredom, distress, and troubles to a pan of brownies has only increased our stress. Dieting has drained us emotionally, if not financially, and has exacerbated rather than solved our problems.

Through a series of specially designed classes incorporating videos, audio cassette tapes, workbooks, and Bible lessons, you will learn how to be delivered from the slavery of overweight. God can change your desire so that you do not want to eat the second half of a candy bar if you are not truly hungry.

This series teaches people that head hunger (the urge to eat when the body is not calling for it) is not true physiological hunger, but rather is spiritual hunger. You learn how to replace head hunger with the will of God so that you can transform this desire for a pan of brownies to that of hungering and thirsting after righteousness. And you will learn how to eat regular food with control. In other words, the food content does not change, but the person does.

No matter what your age, no matter what your size, no matter what your means of control is -- whether it is dieting, exercising to keep the weight off, bulimia, (throwing up the food to maintain control), anorexia, (extreme bodily deprivation for means of control), or whether you have just given up self control, this program is for you.

This Weigh Down Workshop Bible study is teaching people to recognize and then overcome their bondages by transferring their love and adoration for the things of this world to our awesome God!

This Bible study is based on the principles originally taught in the EXODUS Out of Egypt seminar. This program was created as a result of the freedom participants were gaining from many strongholds other than food. As their focus upon God increased, He revealed other areas in their lives that were not within His boundaries. And by learning to submit their will to His in these areas, they were literally being set free from alcohol, cigarettes, marital difficulty, pride, greed, antidepressants, sexual obsession, and a host of other strongholds.

This is unlike any fad program, medical regimen, or method you may have tried in the past. It is based on transferring your current stronghold to the stronghold of Jesus Christ. It will not matter what stronghold you have since it is the love or passion you have for it that is the problem. This seminar deals with the love we have for our indulgences and how to break free from the clutches of that love. God has been using these principles to set people free from the bondage of many things and changing their hearts and lives at the same time. He alone has the answer and He will not sit by and let any manmade rules or therapies surpass His ability to provide true freedom and peace.

Through this in-depth Bible study, you will learn how you can be delivered from the slavery of yielding to the world and its life-draining temptations. You will learn that God can change your heart so that you will no longer even desire to go beyond the boundaries He created. Regardless of your stronghold, whether it is one or many, recent or life-long, deeply rooted or still developing, this program can change your life.

To participate in this life-changing seminar, you must have a foundational knowledge of basic Weigh Down material before taking Weigh Down Advanced. This means that you must have already gone through EXODUS Out of Egypt, worked through the entire Weigh Down at Home series, or read all of The Weigh Down Diet Book. If you have only been through EXODUS from Strongholds, you can still take the seminar, but we highly recommend picking up a copy of The Weigh Down Diet Book so that you can get the basic foundational information in regard to food and eating. The Weigh Down Advanced series will not be re-teaching all the great physiological information on hunger and fullness and the way the body systems work. This is not a strict or legalistic rule, but only intended to help the class be able to use the class time in the best possible way. In Weigh Down Advanced, we will be building on the basics, not re- teaching them.

We are praying that only those who truly want to do the will of the Father will be led to these classes. The orientation video is very clear and strong, so there should be no doubt about what you are signing up for from the beginning. You will be signing up for a course that is clearly teaching that we must surrender to the will of God through Jesus Christ our Lord, for He is our Sovereign Lord. The only way to let Him know that He is Lord of our life is to climb off His throne and give Him back His crown. We cannot keep trumping God and defying God's decisions through our eating!
